We are so excited that Katherine Perkins has joined Caring Connections team, providing Patient Navigation and Community Outreach. She has been with us since the beginning of April, taking Jess Lanphere's place for the capacity building grant through Maine Cancer Foundation (MCF).Katherine is a breast cancer survivor herself, and brings lots of knowledge and personal experience to her position here at Caring Connections. Katherine has worked in many community service programs in the past, including: Director of Sweetser for disability services, NAMI Maine Respite Manager, as well as a Residential Service Coordinator at Partners for Peace. Through Caring Connections, Katherine provides advocacy and patient navigation for those receiving diagnostic and treatment services, assists with facilitation of all support groups, provides risk reduction education within community and school settings, and helps to manage the no-cost breast and cervical screening program. She has easily taken on these important roles and we are so very lucky to have her join us!
